Alexei Kosut: Good Enough For Now

An Explanation Of These Pages' Theme

4 Oh, I couldn't live a single day without you
Actually, on second thought, well, I suppose I could
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is, honey, you're the greatest
Well, at any rate, I guess you're...pretty good
Now, it seems to me I'm relatively lucky
I know I probably couldn't ask for too much more
I honestly can say you're an above-average lady
You're almost just what I've been looking for
You're sort of everything I've ever wanted
You're not perfect, but I love you anyhow
You're the woman that I've always dreamed of
Well, not really...but you're good enough for now
You're pretty close to what I've always hoped for
That's why my love for you is fairly strong
And I swear I'm never gonna leave you, darlin'
At least 'til something better comes along

If you haven't noticed, my personal pages have a theme that is inspired by "Weird Al" Yankovic. Weird Al is probably the most recognized musical comedian and parodists of the 1980's and '90s. His hits include parodies "Eat It," "Like a Surgeon," "Fat" and most recently "Amish Paradise," but he has recorded over a hundred songs on nine albums. This last season, he starred in his own television show on CBS, the "Weird Al Show."

I am very much a fan of Al's work. For example, here is a picture of me lip-syncing to "The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota" (which can be found on the soundtrack to UHF, Al's 1989 film) last year during my high school's "Spirit Week". I own all of Al's albums, and know all his songs by heart. So it was only natural that I use Al as a theme for my web pages. The fact that our first names are similar (they both start with "Al") was an additional incentive.

Various pages on this site are named after the songs "Such A Groovy Guy" ("Weird Al" Yankovic, 1982), One Of Those Days" (Polka Party!, 1986) and "Good Enough For Now" (also from Polka Party!). These pages feature random lyrics from the song they are named after. So hit reload a few times!

So hopefully now you understand. Have a bologna sandwitch. Then go buy Al's albums from CDNow using this link. I get free CDs when you do that.
