More Software: MTSpeling
A while back, I complained about the lack of spell checker in Movable Type. I resolved to write one, and I think I’ve finally got it working. Readers can now check the spelling of comment previews on my weblog, and I can check the spelling of entry previews. Please let me know if there are any problems—if you can’t leave a comment, email me.
If you want to install this on your own Movable Type weblog, the MTSpeling module is available for download.
In other Movable Type news, a few weeks ago I installed Subscribe to Comments on my weblog, so you can sign up to receive email when comments are posted to an entry.

This is a great plugin. I notice you’re using some javascript to jazz up the listing of incorrectly-spelled words. I’d appreciate knowing what javascript you used. Thanks, and keep up the good work!

Just want to test this out.
I’m a little confused about how, exactly, I’m supposed to set this up to check the spelling of my blog entries.

Spell checking mt posts MTSpeling provides a way to send comments and posts to ispell during preview, which is something I desperately need as a result of my failed education. Happily, it’s now installed here at XMLHead for comments. Sadly, I’m a bit stumped…

Hi, Alexei: I have an odd problem. I’ve installed MTSpeling, but it won’t compile. MT-Medic informs me of this:
ERROR “use” not allowed in expression at plugins/MTSpeling.pl line 12, at end of line
ERROR BEGIN not safe after errors–compilation aborted at plugins/MTSpeling.pl line 13.
WARNING Unquoted string “ispell” may clash with future reserved word at plugins/MTSpeling.pl line 8.
Any ideas??
